Dr. Myrthala dC Alejo, MA, LPC, DPC
I believe people need a listening ear to work through difficult times. I see psychotherapy as an avenue to help people heal. Whether a person is struggling with issues at home, school or work, everyone needs treatment free of judgement. I am honest & straight-forward in my approach. I take clients of all ages. I enjoy utilizing play when working with children who are experiencing developmental difficulties, behavioral issues, social skill problems among other conditions. I also work with adults experiencing stress, anxiety, anger, depression & relationship difficulties. I believe a therapist should be positive and motivational to bring about change in a client’s life.
The treatment modality I utilize is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) but will adapt treatment to the client’s needs. Mindfulness-based interventions, generally aimed at relieving symptoms of stress, are used to address and treat a range of symptoms and concerns. I welcome people from all backgrounds and do my best to be sensitive to cultural factors. I, myself, am bicultural and bilingual.
Empowering clients to change & heal is my ultimate goal. My services are open to all who seek to change & improve their quality of life. My schedule is flexible including weekends.
